High-Resolution CT Knee Anatomy: 1 mm Axial Images | Premium Subscription Access

Explore our advanced CT knee anatomy library, featuring high-resolution anatomical images presented in the axial plane. This specialist learning module has been developed using thin-slice CT imaging to demonstrate clinically realistic cross-sectional anatomy of the knee.

The CT knee section covers the major bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, vessels and surrounding soft tissues. Important structures include the distal femur, femoral condyles, intercondylar notch, patella, proximal tibia, tibial plateau, tibial spines, fibular head and proximal tibiofibular joint.

The module also demonstrates the patellofemoral joint, medial and lateral tibiofemoral compartments, articular surfaces, joint spaces and important bony landmarks commonly assessed on CT. These structures are particularly relevant when reviewing fractures, trauma, joint alignment, degenerative changes and preoperative imaging.

Soft-tissue anatomy includes the quadriceps tendon, patellar tendon, iliotibial band, medial and lateral collateral ligament regions, cruciate ligament regions, menisci, popliteus tendon, hamstring tendons and muscles surrounding the knee.

The posterior knee anatomy includes the popliteal artery and vein, tibial nerve, common fibular nerve, gastrocnemius muscles and structures within the popliteal fossa. Their anatomical relationships are clearly demonstrated across consecutive axial slices.

Each axial CT image is manually labelled slice by slice in a textbook-style format, without the use of AI auto-labelling tools. This helps preserve anatomical accuracy and provides a reliable learning reference for radiologists, orthopaedic surgeons, trauma clinicians, radiology trainees, reporting radiographers and students studying musculoskeletal anatomy.

The labelled images are displayed within a smooth interactive scroller, allowing users to move naturally through the anatomy in the same way they would review a clinical axial CT examination. The platform works on desktop and mobile devices, while the full-screen viewer supports detailed review of small anatomical structures.

The toolbar allows users to search for specific structures using voice or text search. This helps users quickly locate important landmarks such as the femoral condyles, tibial plateau, patella, fibular head, popliteal vessels, collateral ligament regions and surrounding muscles.

The side zoom tool provides up to 10× magnification without loss of image quality, allowing users to examine fine bony detail and better understand the relationships between the knee joint, muscles, tendons, vessels and surrounding soft tissues.

This module is supported by dynamic Level 1 and Level 2 quizzes that generate new questions during every session. These interactive assessments help users actively revise, test their knowledge and retain complex CT knee anatomy.
