High-Resolution CT Ankle Anatomy: 1 mm Axial Images | Premium Subscription

Explore our advanced CT ankle anatomy library, featuring high-resolution anatomical images presented in the axial plane. This specialist learning module has been developed using thin-slice CT imaging to demonstrate clinically realistic cross-sectional anatomy of the ankle and hindfoot.

The CT ankle section covers the bones, joints, muscles, tendons, ligaments, nerves, blood vessels and surrounding soft tissues. Important structures include the distal tibia and fibula, medial and lateral malleoli, talus, calcaneus, navicular, cuboid and the proximal portions of the cuneiform bones.

The module also demonstrates the ankle mortise, distal tibiofibular joint, talocrural joint, subtalar joints, sinus tarsi and important articular surfaces. These anatomical relationships are essential for understanding fractures, dislocations, degenerative changes, impingement and postoperative appearances.

Soft-tissue anatomy includes the Achilles tendon, tibialis posterior tendon, flexor digitorum longus tendon, flexor hallucis longus tendon, peroneal tendons, tibialis anterior tendon, extensor tendons and surrounding retinacula. Major ligament groups, including the deltoid ligament complex, lateral collateral ligaments and distal tibiofibular syndesmosis, are also represented where visible on CT.

The module includes important neurovascular structures such as the posterior tibial vessels and nerve, dorsalis pedis artery, anterior tibial vessels, peroneal vessels, tibial nerve, deep peroneal nerve, superficial peroneal nerve and sural nerve.

Each axial CT image is manually labelled slice by slice in a textbook-style format, without the use of AI auto-labelling tools. This helps maintain anatomical accuracy and provides a reliable learning reference for radiologists, orthopaedic surgeons, podiatrists, radiology trainees, reporting radiographers and students studying musculoskeletal anatomy.

The labelled images are displayed within a smooth interactive scroller, allowing users to move naturally through the anatomy in the same way they would review a clinical axial CT examination. The platform works on desktop and mobile devices, while the full-screen viewer supports detailed examination of small anatomical structures.

The toolbar allows users to search for specific structures using voice or text search. This helps users quickly locate important landmarks such as the talus, calcaneus, ankle mortise, subtalar joint, Achilles tendon, peroneal tendons and posterior tibial neurovascular bundle.

The side zoom tool provides up to 10× magnification without loss of image quality, allowing users to examine fine cortical detail, joint surfaces and the relationships between bones, tendons, ligaments and surrounding soft tissues.

This module is supported by dynamic Level 1 and Level 2 quizzes that generate new questions during every session. These interactive assessments help users actively revise, test their knowledge and retain complex CT ankle anatomy.
